Now i'd like to say that sizes vary slightly due to been handmade. Yes they vary and yes they are handmade...by our two young boys. We began making bee products after our starting to keep bees a few years ago when the curiosity of our children led to well, this...
Wrap sizes are a minimum of 20x20cm and designs are chosen at random. If you would like a specific colour or design please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org after placing your order.
These wraps are a great way to minimise the use of clingfilm and plastic bag use for keeping food fresh, they are really easy to use and when used properly, the wraps can really last for months.
How to use
Wrap your item securely and use the warmth of your hand or fingers to mould and seal the wrap.
Care of your wraps
Wash with cold, soapy water. Rinse with cold water and hang up to dry.
To extend the life of your wraps, store either rolled or lying flat. Folding will cause the wax to break down more quickly
You can also refresh your wraps placing in an oven on a low heat on a clean baking sheet or parchment for 5/10 minutes. This should only be done to replenish the wrap if it becomes overly cracked or has taken on a slight odour from smelly foods such as onion or cheese.
Then when they have seen better days you can put them on the compost heap as they are 100% cotton they are biodegradable.
Do not use on raw meat and fish
Do not use on hot foods or use in microwave or oven
Do not wash in warm or hot warm or wash in dishwasher Beeswax is flammable at a fairly low heat. Do not place or store wraps near a heat source
Beeswax will melt if exposed to heat or sunlight.
We supplement our wax supplies with additional purchases of 100% UK bees wax for making food wraps.
